Barn Quilt Class

Come join us for a day of paint and fun at Queens Rustic Retreat. Valerie Steele is our instructor and she does a great job in getting the creative juices going. The class starts at 10am and ends at 4pm. The cost of the class is $130 this includes instructor fees, all supplies to include a piece of wood , paints and brushes. All you need to bring is an apron or an old paint shirt, 24in ruler and a blow dryer. Lunch is also included. Retreat on a Whim

March 11th through March 15th 2026

Come join us for an open retreat in March. The cost is $80 per night with lunch only. We also offer day retreats from 9am to 5:30pm for $45 per day lunch is included. Spring Open Retreat April 9th through April 12th 2026

Hello Retreaters,

We have a new Open Retreat happening April 9th through the 12th

We are offering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Its $330 per person. This is hosted by Jim and Margie Hall

He has reserved a retreat center, he was hoping to have a men’s retreat, but unfortunately , he had no takers. Margie and Jim would like to open this up to all our local ladies who want to have fun (and sew, sew, sew).

Open Retreat

Location: Queen’s Rustic Retreat in McQueeney, TX

Dates: April 9-12, 2026 (Thu - Sun)

Cost is $330 for 3 nights

Meals are included in the price, including lunch on Thursday (not Sunday)

Arrival can be as early as 8 am on Thursday

Important features:

- Rooms are in the same building as the sewing area

- Beds are all twin size, number per room varies from 2-5

- Please inform me if you have a preference for a roommate.

- There is a wonderful quilt store nearby, called Fiberworx

- Sewing area has many design walls, ironing and cutting stations.

Deposit is required to hold your spot, $50.

Full payment of the balance is required by February 28, 2026. Check is preferred, if another payment option is needed, contact me directly.

Learn how to do Collage Wall hangings with Doris rice. She is a certified Collage teacher and does a great job in helping you make beautiful creations. The featured collage here is Dee Ceased. This is a great wall hanging and so easy to do.
